During the 2018 Major League Soccer season, the New York Red Bulls enjoyed a highly successful campaign, finishing first in the regular season with a 22-7-5 record and accumulating 71 points. This achievement earned them their third Supporters' Shield. Driven by top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips, who netted 20 league goals, the team advanced to the MLS Cup Playoffs, where they reached the Conference Finals. They also competed in the CONCACAF Champions League, reaching the semi-finals.
