The 2018-19 campaign was a tumultuous and short-lived return to the top flight for Rayo Vallecano as Rayistas finished a crushing 20th in La Liga, resulting in immediate relegation after just one season. However, the year was defined by the stunning individual form of on-loan striker Raúl de Tomás, whose 14 crucial league goals anchored the attack and proved he belonged at the elite level. It was a disheartening season built on hope that faded too quickly, but De Tomás's prolific display remains a defining chapter of individual brilliance amidst a collective struggle at Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas.
