Notes

The 2018-19 campaign for Real Betis, under manager Quique Setién, was a season of high-flying ambition and frustrating inconsistency, ultimately finishing a disappointing 10th in La Liga. Los Verdiblancos enjoyed a memorable run to the Copa del Rey semi-finals and were led by the sensational new attacking midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who netted a crucial 9 league goals (16 overall). The season, built on Setién's intricate, possession-based football, was highlighted by a famous 2-1 Europa League victory over AC Milan at the San Siro and the veteran presence of captain Joaquín, marking a memorable, if ultimately transitional, chapter.
