The 2018 season for the Raiders, then based in Oakland, was a year of significant transition highlighted by the return of head coach Jon Gruden. While the team underwent a rebuilding phase, the season featured several bright spots, including the emergence of tight end Jared Cook, who earned his first Pro Bowl selection after leading the team with 896 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Derek Carr demonstrated great efficiency by setting a franchise record for the most consecutive passes without an interception, and the team secured a memorable Christmas Eve victory over the Denver Broncos in front of a passionate home crowd.
