In the 2019 MLS season, D.C. United finished 5th in the Eastern Conference and 10th overall with a 13-11-10 record. Playing their first full season at Audi Field, the team relied on a stout defense led by goalkeeper Bill Hamid, who recorded a club-record 14 clean sheets.
