The 2019-20 campaign for St Johnstone was a turbulent season that delivered a respectable 6th-place finish in the Scottish Premiership, a position secured on a points-per-game basis after the season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Saints overcame a disastrous start, which included an early 7-0 thrashing by Celtic and a long winless run at the bottom of the table, showing immense grit under manager Tommy Wright to mount a remarkable, seven-match unbeaten run that hauled them up the table. Leading the line with his decisive contributions was striker Callum Hendry, whose 7 league goals proved vital in a year built on dramatic resilience and a fierce fight to climb the standings. It was an unforgettable chapter defined by a dramatic mid-season revival and a sudden end that still delivered a crucial top-half finish.
