Notes

The 2020-21 campaign delivered a remarkable, fairy-tale season for Barnsley as The Tykes, under the transformative management of Valerien Ismael, surged from a team fighting relegation the previous year to secure a spectacular 5th-place finish and a coveted spot in the Championship play-offs. Leading the charge was their talismanic forward Cauley Woodrow, whose 12 league goals (15 overall) powered an attacking platform, notably scoring the equaliser in the tense play-off semi-final against Swansea City before ultimately falling short on aggregate. It was a season built on relentless high-pressing football, unity, and a thrilling, unexpected push for the Premier League that remains a proud and defining chapter of the club's modern history.
