The 2020-21 campaign delivered a necessary season of consolidation for 1. FC Nürnberg, with Der Club securing an 11th-place finish in the 2. Bundesliga under the new leadership of coach Robert Klauß and sporting director Dieter Hecking. Leading the charge was striker Manuel Schäffler, whose 10 crucial goals were vital in establishing mid-table stability after a turbulent period. This year, though lacking a promotion push, marked a significant, steadying chapter in the club's modern rebuilding efforts.
