The 2020-21 campaign delivered a turbulent battle for Shrewsbury Town as Salop secured their League One status, finishing 17th under the mid-season arrival of manager Steve Cotterill. Leading the line with defiance was the fan-favourite forward Shaun Whalley, whose 9 goals across all competitions were vital in a campaign built on grit and resilience. It was a stressful year that marked a successful fight to maintain their place in the third tier of English football.
