The 2021-22 campaign delivered a crucial and comfortable return to Serie A stability for Empoli as the newly-promoted Azzurri finished a respectable 14th place, well clear of the relegation battle. Leading the charge was the clinical striker Andrea Pinamonti, whose 13 goals proved vital in a season built on the tactical flair of manager Aurelio Andreazzoli and a surprisingly potent attacking threat that peaked early on. It was a successful year that marked the club's accomplished re-establishment in the top flight and remains a defining chapter in their recent history.
