Italy began the tournement in a tricky Group A with Wales, Swizerland and Turkey but managed to win 3 out of 3 games seeing them advancing to Round of 16. First up against Austria saw a 2-1 win after extra time. Next up was the Quarter finals where they faced Belgium where iItaly scored two goals in the first half to secure a place in the Semi-Finals. In the Semi's against Spain it went down to the wire on Penalties but saw Italy triumph winning 4-1. Reaching the Final of the Euro 2020 saw the side face a mighty England side on their home soil at Wembely Stadium. Within two minutes England took the lead, but after a long awaited 67 minutes Bonucci equalized for Italy, after full time it stood 1-1. Yet again Italy saw themselves in a penalty shootout, but the pressure of an electric English crowd did not stop them from lifting the trophy for the second time in history as they went on to win the shootout 3-2 and Donnarumma winning player of the Tournament.
