The 2021-22 campaign delivered a dramatic season of resurgence for Sheffield United as The Blades, recovering from a poor start under a mid-season managerial change, surged to a 5th-place finish to secure a Championship play-off spot. Leading the line was the legendary veteran striker Billy Sharp, whose crucial 14 league goals proved his enduring quality and anchored the team's attack. The season culminated in heartbreaking fashion with an agonizing penalty shoot-out defeat to Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals, but remains a defining chapter of the club's dramatic fight back to the top-flight contention.
