Under the brilliant leadership of manager Cuca, the squad won their second Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title and their second Copa do Brasil, alongside claiming their 46th Campeonato Mineiro crown. Star forward Hulk spearheaded the attack as the top goalscorer, netting an impressive 36 goals overall, while the team also reached the Copa Libertadores semifinals.
