Notes

The 2022-23 campaign was a season of intense ambition for Blackburn Rovers as they mounted a fierce challenge for promotion under new Head Coach Jon Dahl Tomasson. Rovers ultimately secured a highly competitive 7th-place finish in the Championship, tragically missing the play-offs only on goal difference, despite a successful season that saw deep runs to the FA Cup Quarter-finals and the EFL Cup Fourth round. Leading the charge was the clinical talisman Ben Brereton Díaz, whose 14 league goals proved decisive in a campaign built on an exciting, attacking philosophy. It was a dramatic and pivotal year that marked the emergence of young talent and the emotional, free-transfer departure of Brereton Díaz at the season's close.
