Notes

The 2022-23 campaign delivered a triumphant return to the Italian top flight for Lecce as Giallorossi, managed by Marco Baroni, secured a vital Serie A survival with a 16th-place finish. Their mission to remain in the elite was successfully accomplished with a five-point cushion, anchored by the consistent performance of their top league goalscorer, Gabriel Strefezza, whose 8 goals proved crucial in the side's gritty campaign. The season was built on a series of significant victories, most notably a rousing home win over Lazio and an impressive double over Atalanta, and the presence of World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti and influential young captain Morten Hjulmand made it a memorable year that cemented their status back among the country's best.
