In the 2023 Major League Soccer season, Inter Miami CF endured a difficult start, languishing at the bottom of the Eastern Conference under manager Phil Neville. However, the transformative summer arrivals of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, along with new head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino, sparked a dramatic turnaround. The team went on a historic run to win the 2023 Leagues Cup, capturing the club's first-ever official trophy, and reached the U.S. Open Cup final. Despite this late-season surge, earlier struggles caught up with the squad. Wearied by a heavy schedule and injuries, they ultimately finished 27th overall with a 9-7-18 record and failed to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
