Notes

In the 2023 MLS season, New York City FC endured a difficult campaign, finishing 11th in the Eastern Conference and 20th overall with a 9-14-11 record, missing the playoffs. The club underwent a major transition following the departures of key players like Maxi Moralez and Sean Johnson. Splitting home matches between Yankee Stadium and Citi Field, the team struggled offensively, averaging just over one goal per game. They were also eliminated in the Round of 32 in both the Leagues Cup and the U.S. Open Cup.
