2008-09 TSG Hoffenheim Player Issue Home L/S Shirt Obasi #20

Hoffenheim's Rise

Home shirt worn in Die Kraichgauer's first season in the Bundesliga. Despite Hoffenheim's status as a village of just over 3000 people, the side had managed to fight their way from regional football all the way to the Bundesliga by 2008, albeit with lots of financial backing from owner Dietmar Hopp who was one of the richest people in Germany at the time. Under the tutelage of experienced operator Ralf Rangnick, the side would miraculously be top of the Bundesliga at Christmas, crowned the Hinrunde "first half" Champions. The side would fall away in the second half of the season as Wolfsburg's famous side would top the league with Hoffenheim eventually finishing 7th.

2001-02 Juventus Home Shirt Maresca #16

Maresca's Bull Celebration

Having started his career at West Bromwich Albion not knowing a word of English at 18 years old in 1998, Maresca left the midlands side after a club record sale with 47 appearances and 5 goals and returned to Italy in January 2000. His career started off slow in Turin, being loaned to Bologna in 00-01 and Piacenza in 02-03. However, in the 01-02 season Enzo scored a significant equaliser in the Derby della Mole in which he mimicked Marco Ferrante's "bull-horn" celebration (pictured), a symbol of Torino's image. After 58 appearances and 6 goals for I Bianconeri across three seasons amongst two loan-spells elsewhere, Maresca was sold to Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal after disagreements about his contract renewal.

2008-09 Olympique Marseille Match Issue Third L/S Shirt Mears #8

Mears' Controversial Move

Infamous shirt with three-quarter sleeve design as worn by full back Mears during his loan spell from Championship side Derby in the 2008-09 season. Mears had caused controversy at parent club Derby by travelling to Marseille for a trial without permission. He was initially fined six week's wages by Derby, who then agreed a loan deal with Marseille for Mears' service. Mears only played seven times for the club in his season on loan, with the highlight moment being a winning header in extra time of a UEFA Cup knockout match vs Ajax. One of the most baffling transfers and number choices (#8) that we've seen!

2007-08 Inter Milan Nike 'Ambrosiana' Heritage L/S Shirt

Inter's Coat of Arms

Part of the Nike Football classics range from Inter's centenary season, this heritage shirt adopts a similar design to the away strip, donning the coat of arms of Milan. The large red cross on a white background takes inspiration from a very old uniform when the side were named Società Sportiva Ambrosiana, which is also what part the crest reads. With the name relating to Saint Ambrose, the 4th-century Bishop of Milan and the design featuring the city's coat of arms, FC Internazionale have always been ingrained in their glorious metropolis.

2000-01 Sheffield United Home Shirt & 2001-03 West Brom Away Shirt

Battle of Bramall Lane

Classic design worn both in the infamous game dubbed as the "Battle of Bramall Lane" in March 2002. The Baggies made the short trip to South Yorkshire to face Sheffield United in a First Division clash that was by no means a derby, but ended up becoming the only match in English professional history to have been abandoned due a shortage of players. The United goalkeeper was sent off within the first 10 minutes for handling outside the area and they trailed 1-0 at the break. But after the restart manager Neil Warnock made two subs in the latter stages of the game, in which the both of them were sent off after a horrific two-footed challenge from Georges Santos and a headbutt from Patrick Suffo in the aftermath. Then being down to 8 men, two United players suffered injuries and the match was abandoned due to the Blades having used all of their substitutions.
